This week, first-year master’s student Paul Hafley was announced as the first prize winner for the 2020 International Clarinet Association Young Artist AND Orchestral Audition Competitions. His solo and orchestral playing were reviewed by four distinct panels of acclaimed clarinetists and awarded the top prizes in both categories across all entries internationally. He is the winner of $3,500, a Buffet Traditional B-flat clarinet, and a Chevedille mouthpiece. Bravo, Paul!!
Sophomore Thomas Rodriguez won the 2020 Bee Polomé Scholarship Competition run by the Mu Phi Epsilon Austin Alumni Chapter on February 29th. Thomas competed with Stravinsky’s Three Pieces and Brahms Second Sonata in Eb Major. Well deserved, Thomas!
As Young Texas Artist’s 2019 Audience Choice and Silver Medal Winner, Bruce Luo was awarded the opportunity to perform solo with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. Bruce played Bassi’s Rigoletto Fantasy on their February 8, 2020 program. We are so proud of you, Bruce!

We are happy to announce that Tyler Webster, Artist Diploma from UT Clarinet Studio, made it to the finals of the United States Air Force premiere band clarinet audition and he was offered a spot with one of their regional ensembles at the Langley Base in Hampton, Virginia. Congratulations Tyler!!
